Division of Gastroenterology

Application Process

How Can I Apply?

The GI Division typically accepts two clinical fellows and one research fellow per academic year. There is a Gastroenterology Training Grant to financially support fellows interested in performing research during their fellowship (research training track).

The GI Fellowship training program is a three-year intensive experience in all aspects of gastrointestinal diseases, including management of acute GI bleeding, liver transplantation, and outpatient management of acute and chronic GI diseases. Our fellows graduate from our program with a rich experience of management of all GI diseases.

To Apply for a Clinical or Research Position, applicants must apply through ERAS.

Applicants are chosen by the National Resident Matching Program.

Applications are only accepted through ERAS from December 1 through December 31st.

After December 31st, only completed applications are considered and reviewed by the selection committee. Applicants are selected and invited to come to San Diego to interview for our fellowship program.

When Applying to ERAS, we require the following documentation.

For specific questions, please contact our program coordinator, Roslyn Lara. Thank you.
